Enough people asked me about getting a T-Shirt with my StopSylviaBrowne avatar on it that, on a lark, I created CafePress page with some StopSylviaBrowne merchandise.

I thought I selected the "Do not list" option, as I was just playing around, but I have already gotten some feedback, so apparently it is searchable.

Right now, everything just has that avatar on it. I had intended on making the back of the shirts say something like "Stop her before she cold-reads again", but won't get to that for a while.

Any and all proceeds will go towards the site. In the two weeks since I announced it, I've already spent a couple of hundred on the site and research materials (I've been getting her books on eBay). I've had offers for monetary donations, but I'm not really comforatble with that. This is a compromise of sorts.

I feel weird putting this stuff out there before the site even has any real content (I am working on it, fokls), but since it seems to already be in the search engines, I thought I'd mention it here.

Also, if anyone has any suggestions for other CafePress merchandise they'd like to see with the avatar, let me know.

Now, back to the site-building.

Brilliant!

I don't think I'll be buying - but have you considered to move the URL off the logo and put on the clothes separately, in a non-fancy (probably black) font?

A StopSylviaBrowne.com manicure set???

Nah. lol

I see nothing wrong with recouping your costs. You are providing a great public service.

I second this.

I don't usually wear t-shirts with big, complicated graphics on them, but I would be the first to buy a shirt with a simple "www.stopsylviabrowne.com" printed on it. :D

I just placed an order for two. I'll be wearing it at TAM.

:)

That is a good idea, too - but I was thinking to still have both the logo and the ULR on the shirt, in separate places.

A relatively new blog in Germany is regularly debunking the articles and practices of the largest tabloid in Europe. (Largest "newspaper", but I am very reluctant to use that term ...)

The report on plain mistakes, spins, inconsistencies, political agendas influencing the writing, violations of ethical codes, etc. (You would all like it, I'm sure.)

Their merchandise almost neglects the site name and draws attention by using teasers with in-jokes.

This is a fake dictionary entry explaining how the paper understands the term "secret".

The blog does have an online dictionary that does this for several words, many of which explain how the paper puts massive spin on their articles by carefully choosing how certain things are being described.

getScaledImage.php

This describes the wearer of the shirt as "one who makes counterstatements".

The paper in question will fight tooth and nail before printing counterstatements, and the blog will often point out what effort it took the injuried party to get them published.

RSL... This is weirding me out... we're totally on the same wavelength, I guess :) I opened the SAPS CafePress store last night!

Brilliant!
Thanks!

Yup. It's one of various permutations I considered, but don't have the time to fool with at the moment, because I'm putting the site together!

Another would be to just have a small verssion of the sign - without the sky or URL - on a shirt pocket, with the URL on the back of the shirt.

If only CafePress sold them!!!! :D

Okay, will do - thanks.

Woo-hoo! Very cool, thanks.

Thanks for the suggestions, and the images from the other site, Rasmus.

I have considered some similar "Quotation" T-shirts, such as one like:

"I have found, as I get older, that the gift is not for my benefit in any way, shape or form. It is something to be given away." - SYLVIA BROWNE, Adventures of a Psychic.

"Phone reading with Sylvia - $750" - From Sylvia's fee schedule, on www.sylvia.org
