As many/most of you know, I first heard about Kaz from my mother, who had seen Kaz speak at her church, and was totally taken in by the nonsense.
When I expressed doubts to her about the story, she was upset and insulted, and assured me that she "knew when someone was lying, and Kaz was NOT lying!" As the evidence against Kaz mounted, my Mom eventually admitted that she had been snowed. To this day, if Kaz is mentioned, my Mom rolls her eyes and acts a little sheepish about the whole thing.
At one point, after she had accepted the fact that Kaz was a fraud, she told me of another person who had just spoken at her church. It was a man who told a fairly standard "I found Jesus while in jail and it turned my life around" story. After my Mom told me the man's dramatic story, she paused for a moment and then said "at least, that's what he told us."
It gave me a warm, fuzzy feeling inside. My Mom, the skeptic!
