I went and saw this flower on friday afternoon.
Unfortunately, It had already mostly closed up. There was not much of a smell, and I definitely would not compare it to a rotting corpse. It wasn't "flowerlike", but it wasn't unpleasant, either. Perhaps it was stronger/different when fully in bloom.
So, it was interesting in the sense of thinking "hmm. I'm looking at the largest flower in the world", but it wasn't awe inspiring, at least to me. I am happy to have seen it, however; it was worth the trip. Thanks for the heads up, Diogenes.
