In case some of you guys don't get Michael Shermer's newsletter the first broadcast (on California's UCTV) from the science channel is online. It is a symposium of people discussing the science, ethics and politics of current stem cell research. I just saw the first part and it was quite informative althought I didn't understand everything.
Two interesting things:
The interests in pure research using stem cells; The scientists were much more interested in the use of doing pure research using stem cells instead of therapeutic cloning. Somewhat contrary to what I have read.
Irv Weissman clear annoyance with the Bush ban. He compares it to Stalin's on darwinian genetics.
