I realize that this is a bit premature, but I was looking at the Stardust website to book rooms, and they have 3 main types..the Villas, and the East and West tower. As they all appear to be the same price, are there any differences between them? Which ones are the best?

Stardust rooms

The Villa rooms are the low-level motel-type rooms around the second pool. The East Tower is the 9-storey older building, with okay rooms that actually have real balconies. The West Tower is the new 30-storey monolith. It's got the best rooms, and these are what you get for your $60 - the Amazing Meeting rate.
(For lots more info on this and other Vegas topics, see www.cheapovegas.com ).

I've stayed at the Stardust 4 times and the tower rooms are pretty good. I've heard that the Villas are a little run down so I'd stay away from them. Wish I could go.

Thanks for your responses. They were all the same price, and you can't really trust the hotels descriptions all the time.

The west wing rooms last year were fine.

I just wish they would allow people to OPEN THE GODDAMN WINDOWS SO ONE CAN SLEEP WITHOUT THE GODDAMN AC BLASTING!!

And have some ocean nearby as well.

Thank you.

I found the emplyees at the Stardust were very friendly and nice. I kept getting lost....all the slot machines look the same to me!

Also, they should hire some Europeans to put together a decent breakfast buffet... with what they served at TAM3, I could feel my teeth rot just looking at all that stuff...

Yes, I remember remarking offhand to Kramer (who I didn't know actually was Kramer at the time, I'm hopeless) that the sugary rolls and pastry treats for breakfast at TAM was very out of the ordinary for me too. If I ate that on a regular basis, I'd be quite ill, I think. Every morning I sneaked over to the Starbucks across the road for a cappuchino. Next time, I'll bring extra vegemite for breakfast.
Lunch, however, was excellent. Lots of salad. Whooo! :)

AND KUDOS TO CLAUS FOR MENTIONING THE @#^%@#& WINDOWS THAT DON'T &^%@#&^% OPEN!!

No laundry facilities, either. :(

I remember this because you were the only person able to summon the fortitude to actually utter a comment. Everyone else just stood there and stared in disbelief. They might as well have just had krispy creme catered in.

So that genuinely wasn't normal breakfast fare for those parts? I thought that I was perhaps being a snooty Australian far from home. :o But if Chaos noted too and others 'stared in disbelief' then I don't feel so uppity! :) I don't know what a 'krispy creme' is but certainly I'll seek out other arrangements (and I noted there were several venues not only in the casino but outside, those attending TAM4) if it happens again at TAM5. Thanks.

Krispy Kreme. (SUGAR OVERLOAD WARNING!)

I got my needed milk from one of the small vendors in the casino, along with some bread. No good cheese, though (non-American).

Only the most mouth-watering, soft, chewy, and delicious doughnut ever. If you ask me, TAM + Krispy Kreme = Bliss.

I know two Europeans who raided the canned fruit juice supplies in order to procure liquid breakfast. If you ask nicely enough, I think arrangements can be made so that they get some for you, too. :D

If she leaves the vegemite at home, sure...

Hold it! I was thinking of trying to persuade Mrs Beady that TAM 4 might be fun for our first vacation in 10 years. Are you telling me that I can't get a western omelette or bacon and eggs for breakfast?

You can, but ot at the breakfast included with the conference. Or at least not at TAMIII. The startdust breakfast buffet ain't bad, though. And you can get all sorts of stuff there. Like strawberry waffles.

In the restaurant, sure. But we got a pile of sugar and a pile of juice cans at TAM3.
