Spiked-Science Survey

An interesting site. I certainly was not aware of it. Thanks for the link.
Is there anything specific there you wanted to draw attention to?

I was surprised to see the number of respondents who gave evolutionary theory as their choice. Almost a quarter, and not just from biologists either. Given the huge subject matter (all of science), this is an astonishing endorsement of Darwin's work.

It is a tad disproportionate, isn't it?

I wouldn't say "astonishing" endorsement though. "Fitting", perhaps. Natural Selection really is the most important scientific window ever opened on the way the world really works. It grips us as humans more than the Copernican revolution, because, lets face it, most of the universe is a long way away, whereas most of the natural world is right here.

My guess is that they consider natural selection most important because of the number of people who deny its validity.
