Speaking about bubbles

I happened to think about this after reading the new thread about Big Bang or Big Splash.

A neighbor kid got a toy lawnmower that has dual 'exhaust' that blows out bubbles. Inside the house, the bubbles popped, in short order, on the carpet. But...outside in the grass they stayed, and did not pop! I have never seen anything like itl The grass was covered in bubbles! The lawn was wet. Did this play into it.

Shot in the dark...

Carpet fibres might be more absorbant than wet grass, so the liquid skin will be absorbed where it touches the carpet, popping the bubble. The wet grass might not absorb the liquid skin of the bubble as well, so more bubbles will remain unpopped.

Just a guess, though.
