Spam emails: alive and well

From the link -

"His company has detected 7 billion spam e-mails worldwide in November compared to 2.5 billion in June. Spam in Britain has risen by 50 percent in the last two months alone, according to Internet security company SurfControl." (Bolding mine)

Jumping Jehoshaphat! That's a LOT of spam!

(obligatory reference to Monty Python omitted)

Our filter has blocked 18,883,000+ in the last month. We are a small college with 6000 users. It's insane. Even with the filter a lot still gets through.

I see the internet as an interesting experiment in anarchy. The good, the bad and the ugly.

And actually given a choice I'd prefer to choke the people so painfully stupid as to give them any business before the spammers themselves (it's close). It's the only reason all this has gotten so out of hand.
