Reading through the latest challenge kook, another one that can summons UFOs or spaceships. And the applicant says they have to allow for weather.

What is it with the clear skies stipulation? If these craft can travel accross the universe, through extreme cold and darkness, aparently at tremendous speed, dodging cosmic debris, why can't they tolerate a little overcast sky on Earth?
They can defy gravity and laws of physics but can't fly in a little rain?
Earth, among the most calm and stable climates in the universe.

I figured the stipulation was to allow maximum "woonish" on the part of the applicant. The clearer the skies, the better the "message" he is sending to the aliens.

I thought misty sky acted like projection screen.
Think what you can do with some illumination and a projection screen.

Even without deliberate manipulation. Weather situation easily allows lots of imaginations. Different shape of cloud. shape of lightings and timing of the thunder.

So Even if the test fails, the woo wins as others creatively interpret the results.

It's possible that Prophet Yaweh just wants clear skies so you can see the balloon- I mean U.F.O.

You're way behind the times. Wake up boy. There is now yet another psychic mastermind who can summon them at will. Have a look at the latest challenge.

You never see the space shuttle in the rain, either. It would seem that rain is pretty bad for spaceships. I for one would be perfectly happy with a UFO showing up in the middle of a calm sunny day. ;)

I'll bet it's the same damn trick, too. He does the U.F.O. dance with his cell phone left on in his pocket, and some guy off in the hills hears the signal and releases the balloon.

Must be like the aliens from that GODAWFUL movie signs (believe me I didn't want to see that one). The trick to killing the aliens was water :cs: Guess the aliens weren't smart enough to delevop basic protective suits or open doors for that matter.

Probably the most idiotic movie I've ever seen.

Plan 9 was so idiotic it was brilliant. Signs doesn't even approach it.

Speaking of idiotic movies, I saw Starship Troopers again on satellite TV last night. I still can't make out if it was meant to be a serious movie with D grade acting and appalling script or a comedy with D grade acting, appalling script and no comedy.

The book is good. It's by Phillip K. Dick. Don't waste your time on the movie.

On a clear night, away from city lights the stars are much brighter and it is far easier to see satellites and Venus. Fool any city person.
