It is a form of assault through poisons inflicted on your fellow man. It kills others slowly, but still kills them, ad kills the smoker itself. Assualt and suicide are already illegal so the precedent is already there.

It's not enough to publicly ban it, it should be probable cause for the law to enter your house take the cancer sticks from you. You know I'm right.

*blowing smoke towards monitor*

Are you driving a car ?

I think we should go a bit more broad than banning smoking and just ban fire. That will effectively stop smoking as well as other bad things like char broiled hamburgers.

Speaking as an employee in an oncology clinic, I have to say I firmly respect the freedom of choice of every individual, and if they choose to indulge a habit that gives them harmless pleasure and often leads to profits and paychecks for me, who am I to judge them? Live and let live and let charge according to the limits of coverage under the contracted insurers.

How will you ever be able to afford enough cotton wadding and bubble-wrap, though? You're going to need epic amounts. Not to mention the time it will take.

Good luck with that.

It occurs to me that fire can't stay lit without oxygen and so you can't smoke where there's no oxygen and oxygen is located in only a very tiny percentage of the universe and as a result, smoking is almost universally banned already by the laws of nature. It's just that we happen to inhabit one of those places where the laws of nature hasn't banned it.

I know you're wrong. Your logic, "Assualt and suicide are already illegal so the precedent is already there" is very wrong because one can use that statement to ban alcohol, sugary snacks, sports, cars, growing old and quite a number of other things as well.

Only it's not harmless

You're just mad I hate your avatar

Precisely! It's a habit that leads to enormous good, benefiting many. Q1 2011 profits were well up from the same quarter last year, and the year before that. We may get significant pay raises this fall as a result. If anything, people should smoke more.

Well, it is a nasty habit. Unhealthy, smelly, expensive and highly addictive. I wish it would be banned universally, that's probably the only way I'd quit.

No. I do not know that you are not right. Why don't you stop with the trolling tactic that you are speaking for others.

How many people have you already killed with the Exhaust gas of your car?

Do you mean just as a byproduct of driving normally, or do you mean the thing with the knockout drops and vacuum cleaner hose? Either way, let's just say my number is somewhere between zero and fifty, and pursue it no further. The DA didn't, so why should you?
