it's always worth re-viewing a Sky at Night episode. even just to ogle the indomitable Patrick Moore and his amazing suit and tie.......

for those who might not know, Sky at Night is a monthly BBC programme dedicated to astronomy and hosted by Patrick for 50 years or so (i think it's the worlds longest running programme)

this is the April 2002 ep. dealing with the "Apollo Moon Hoax" the pic and audio quality's not that good, but they do a great job of debunking all the nonsense

You know at one stage Moore was seen as a bit of a woo hooo himself, through hsi preoccupation with TLPs Transient Luna Phenomena.

With the advent of video etc, turns out these things do actually exist. And a couple of observations seem to confirm what he was saying all along

i really don't know enough about it to comment. but i am much in awe of mr moore and i would be inclined to accept any comment he makes about the moon.
i have always been interested in the subject (astronomy) and now i have a little spare time i will study it more. i bought some good binoculars and a star chart book recently and am even considering a DIY telescope project. i'm just waiting for some clear skies one night (not a regular occurence in mid-winter swansea) and i'm off down the gower............

Right, I amazingly too was going to create a moon landing debunk thread.

But to save making another thread for it...

Something to do with the crosshairs in the pictures.

Look as my fingers seem to disappear in the bright light of the sun.

Ah, yes.

I found a better picture, which portrayed what the Conspiracy theorists go on about even better.

With the crosshairs disappearing and even going behind objects...they claim.

That's a nice picture of your hand disappearing. More like government psyops, if you ask me. What three-letter agency do you work for?

That was something discussed on the LC forums as well. This was the only topic where I wasn't called a shill or a right-winger or any other type of insult...

He's too shy to say, but it's MOONUM (so 6 letters, not a big deal).

i haven't looked into the moon hoax theories much but listening to the above it all seems very woosome.
It is very woosome. Compared to 9/11, it's shooting fish in a barrel to debunk what passes for an argument among the Hoax Believers. About the only question you can't answer using high-school physics is the radiation issue.

is that still from original footage?

A note about the Crosshairs thing... even if it was a hoax, what possible reason would there be for the objects being in front of the crosshair? Did they fake the crosshairs with giant black crosses behind the objects!? Why does the crosshair thing suggest the photo wasn't taken on the moon?
