The results of recent test: Chinese acupuncture, and sham acupuncture (just sticking needles into people any old place) are shown to be equally effective...and in the same test both are also as effective as the comonly prescribed medcation.

Headline on Yahoo!: Acupuncture shown to relieve migraines: study

What? At least most other sources reporting on the study have a much better headline, along the lines of:

Acupuncture Treatment No More Effective Than Sham Treatment in Reducing Migraine Headaches

It would be interesting to know exactly what "drug" was used in the trial, and how effective it is regarded as being. there have been some trials of homoeopathy carried out in Germany recently, in which it seemed to be being tested against rather ineffective "orthodox" treatments.

It was interesting how different news outlets reported this one. Though I daresay none pointed out the study provided evidence against the meridian lines channelling chi, or whatever!
