Should Cannibalism be Illegal

The eating of someone who is already dead, with their prior consent. Is this even wrong? Apart from an unsubstantiated feeling of uneasiness, what is wrong with it?

The only problem I would see is that there might be other people who were emotionally attached to the dead person who would be upset at the thought of you eating their loved one.

Obviously you could just say, well, tough - he consented and I'm within my rights to do it but personally I feel that death is very hard on people (including the dead person, of course) and all possible effort should be made by reasonable people to avoid making it any harder.

If it is illegal to have sex with someone who is dead without their prior consent, it should be illegal to eat them also.

Are you suggesting the law against necrophilia be stricken down? Because apart from an unsubstantiated feeling of uneasiness, what is wrong with it? Beastiality?

You could make the presumption that anyone who wants to be cannibalised is mentally unfit to make that decision.

Most carnivorous mammals do. More notably, omnivore primates like chimpanzees also eat their dead.

I see no need for a law against cannibalism, at least not if you've got laws against mutilating or desecrating a corpse and against tampering with evidence of a crime (I didn't murder him, he just died, no you can't do an autopsy cause I ate him).
