In case anyone didn't know, Michael Shermer is going to be on Coast to Coast AM on Sunday. Should be fun to hear what Noory's callers ask Mr. Shermer.

Schermer

Agreed. Should be even more interesting to see how they rationalize their woo-woo beliefs in light of his evidence-based responses.

I can't find a station with the call letters Woo Woo. Sunday is a lot of time slots, any info on that? It would be helpful to those of us who don't normally listen to the radio if you could be a little bit more helpful telling us what show and what time Shermer will be on. Who's Noory? Is that a clue.

Thanks

IIRC, Noory is the new host of what used to be Art Bell Coast to Coast.

Late night AM radio. I don't think I have ever heard the show, but I have seen plenty of references to it.

I thought Art was a little to petulent and sarcastic, but generally gave a fair interview. Shermer was very good. I'd have felt the need to comment on some of the more snide remarks Art made (he reminded me a lot of the YECs I see on the 'Net), but he just plugged away with his answer. I hope I wasn't the only one who listened.

I listened and agree with your views. The most interesting woo that Art advocated was that crap (can't remember right now what they call it) where they record voices in cemeterys. What a hoot.

I heard that part (I drifted in and out of sleep). I thought Shermer was brilliant in his delivery of the problems with the methodology. It didn't faze Art Bell but I bet it fazed a few listeners.

I also enjoyed his autobiographical story about being a believer of Uri Geller until he saw Randi debunk him. Not a word of protest on that one from Art Bell ;)
