A double-blind clinical trial involving the use of shark cartilage to treat advanced cancer was published a year ago. To read the study click on this URL: http://www3.interscience.wiley.com/cgi-bin/fulltext/110485941/HTMLSTART?CRETRY=1&SRETRY=0. This study found no evidence that shark cartilage is a significant treatment for advanced cancer. I think the results of this trial should be printed in large bold letters on the labels of shark cartilage "suppliments".
It disgusts me that something like this is passed off as "natural". It may be "natural" but it isn't "good for nature"!!! Creating an unnecessary demand for shark products will cause sharks to be hunted and killed, and sharks are absolutely vital members of their ecosystems.
It's bad enough that it's a product made from sharks, it's even worse that it's all a bunch of bull$#!+. I mean I would understand if it actually did work.
