Senior Aussie politician won't quit.

LoL.

But why should he quit? Because he was sniffing the chair or snapped a bra while being drunk?

Chair sniffing is ok as long as the leader is drunk? sigh....

This guy is an idiot and his behavior is incompatable with public office. His Boss tried to rationalise it by describing him as a rough diamond with a robust sense of humor.
Nope, sorry...he is an Idiot and his bevavior is incompatable with public office.

Interestingly, Perth is closer to Jakarta than Canberra. I am not sure if this explains anything.

This is Western Australia of course, so only just aussie. If not for all their mines, I'd be happy for the whole state to be cut loose. And I then wouldn't have to put up with business trips there, like next week.

But seriously, this is disgraceful and he should be sacked if he doesn't resign.

Compared to Bill Clinton's offense, this is mild, no? Bill served out the remainder of his term in office.

I'm not sure the two compare - two willing participants have sex vs some pervert sniffing some sheila's chair.

I think rooting's allowed but perversion not so much.

I see your point but only think it would be a good comparison if the Chair was a willing participant :)

Its a sad day when someone is asked to clarify whether they disapprove of chair sniffing in general or only when drunk.
I've made some sexist remarks to chairs when drunk but never anything that could be seen as sexual assault....

This is honestly one of the most bizarre stories I've heard about in a while. The guy was in tears on tv...very, very strange.

Troy Raymond Buswell was born on 19 March 1966.

How does that make him "Senior" Aussie politician?

They elect toddlers downundah?

Or are we looking at misplaced bigotry from a New Zealander envious of Australia?

The article doesn't say he was drunk when he sniffed the chair (man, I am never gonna get used to typing this part) and he did it to get a laugh, so, do you have anything contrary?

I'm not an Aussie and from this article alone I don't quite get why he should resign.
