To let Manchester share his views without flaming, I've opened up this thread as brodski did with one for David Farrant. I have a few questions I'd like answered by Sean Manchester.

1. In your BBC interview of April 2001, you state:

Lestat Lioncourt: what sort of evidence do you seem to find to support your theories?

Sean Manchester: I don't deal in theory - at least I haven't done so since 30-odd years ago when I first confronted a real vampire. This isn't theory - this is fact.

Please share the facts, then.

2. Same interview:
greg wall: has a vampire ever tried to attack you?

Sean Manchester Yes. On more than one occasion I have been at great risk at the presence of vampires. The first time was in the early 1970s, and a number of times since. In 1990 I was confronted by a predatory wraith or vampire in West Yorkshire while investigating the Kirklees vampire.

Explain. How were you attacked? Did you receive medical attention?

3.
Mr Papachumba: So how many vampires have you caught?

Sean Manchester: Scores. I have personally exorcised quite a number. Precise number I couldn't tell you. But after 33 years of vampire hunting, quite a few.

Please elaborate. How many? Locations?

4.
helen: have you any recorded proof of vampires existence?

Sean Manchester: In my book The Highgate Vampire are photos of a vampire soon after exorcism, in the stages of decomposition. These have been transmitted on TV several times in the 1990s.

Do you have any physical evidence? Dust? Clothing? Any ID of said decomposed corpse?

5. Finally, can you give us some other source other than IOCCUS and your own website in confirming your credentials as a bishop? Do you have a church? If so, what is the location. For privacy, simply truncate the street address or send a PM.

So he's encountered scores of vampires, eh? Let's see...

In my 44 years, I have never personally met a:

Brain surgeon
Olympic athlete
Naval admiral
Employee of Microsoft
Formula 1 driver

On the other hand, many people have, and there's ample evidence they all exist. If someone told me they'd encountered any of the above, I wouldn't even blink - it'd be kinda "so what?".

You'd think if vampires were so common that one man could meet scores, we'd all be familiar with the nasty, blood-sucking vermin - it wouldn't even be local headline news.

On the other hand...

[Shivers] Sorry, I just had a ghastly vision of Tony Blair. :covereyes

There are numerous vampires in Highgate.

Just try parking in Swains Lane/ Highgate West Hill/ Highgate High Street any afternoon and they descend (brandishing tickets) like flies!

Sing, everybody:

"He'll rip your lungs out, Jim / I'd like to meet his tailor / Wa-hoooo! Werewolves of London..."

Since Mythbuster is reluctant to answer "as Manchester" maybe it's helpful to re-phrase the question.

Mythbuster, how can we be sure that the photographs of dead vampires are authentic? (Certainly you agree it would be easy to falsify such photos. There are even rumours that the photos depict Mr. Manchester posing as a vampire. Have these photos been substantiated by any party other than the author?)

As he has been acting as public spokesman for Manchester for over a week now, I see no reason to rephrase. Where is Myth Buster though? He seems to have taken a powder.

Banned. Check the Forum Management section.

Has anyone asked this guy the following:

"On what basis do you know that the person standing before you is a vampire?"

I'm just curious. The answer could be entertaining.

Can never keep psychics and vampire hunters around here for long. They either flee or get banned. Too bad, because I really wanted to hear the reasoning behind the belief in vampirism and discuss the quality of evidence.

Now wait just one moment here....

We have a thread about a vampire hunter started by "The Vampire"!

I call Conspiracy! :)
