'SCARY MOVIE' PRODUCER MAKES CAMPAIGN AD; MOCKS DEMOCRATS

The DRUDGE REPORT has obtained an exclusive copy of a "scary" campaign advertisement created by Hollywood producer and director David Zucker that was intended to be used by GOP organizations in the closing weeks of the 2006 campaign.

However, the advertisement was deemed "too hot" by GOP strategists all across Washington, DC who have refused to use it!
Damn, too controversial even for republicans.

Yes. The claim that they really intended to use this ad before having second thoughts = BULLSH!T.

LOL. Yeah, I'd guess so. It looks more like a comedy skit than a real political ad. I'm guessing the GOPs don't want to get in the pit with the comedy writers. They're badly outnumbered there.

I sent it to Snopes though. We'll see what they have to say.

How controversial could it be? Dems covered up lack of WMDs? Dems. cause pedaphilia? Dems. murdered christ? Dems. gave N.Korea the bomb. Dems forced GBush Sr. not to finish off Saddam back in Gulf War I? Dems. caused the great depression? It is difficult to imagine what they wouldn't blame on the Dems as they try to blame everything on Dems or Clinton (note McCain on N.Korea doing the WH bidding...wonder if, by that logic, George Senior is responsible -- not the Son of course -- for Iraq?). Perhaps it wasn't too controversial...perhaps they realized it was too silly to get traction outside of the 33% of the population who, for what ever deluded reasons or lust to retain power regardless of circumstance, ethics or facts still support this Administration.

Cute way to put the ad out, without putting the ad out. Just do it via the usual channel of a 'leak' to Drudge. Does that guy ever have to do any actual work you associate with Journalism?

Yeah, much more above board to do it through MoveOn.org. Night and day, really.

As does the 90+ second runtime. That's some expensive media, right there. Even if you edit it down, do you realize what it costs to run :60 in heavy rotation in major markets? Too much to justify taking a chance on people getting (and liking) the joke.

Better and easier to do a :15 spot with a few quick quotes. Political ads are not generally known for their production values.
