Heads up for anyone ready for a laugh, the episode of Property Ladder on TLC tomorrow Sept 1st, will have a person fixing up a house using Feng Shui and Numerology.. Should be quite an interesting show.

Reminds me of the last time they had a show where the "Spirital Healer" talked to her house and made all the decisions based on what her house told her. Needless to say she went 10's of thousands over budget, her house was disgustingly ugly, and the house sat on the market for months and she ended up losing money. I guess the house didn't like her!

I saw that one. It was hilarious watching her project go down the toilet.

There's another one of those flipping-homes shows that stars some narcissistic a-hole. He uses psychics to cleanse the homes of any bad spirits. At one point he fired his psychic because he thought she wasn't doing a good job. He said "When she doesn't know something I think she just makes stuff up." I thought "Yessss, he finally gets it." But then he hired a new psychic. How can these people get soooo close, but always come up short?

Sigh. Standard true believer fare. Nothing will unconvince them. The next 50 psychics could get caught making [rule8] up, and he'll hire #51

Well I watched the show last night, and it was quite funny.

The main guy running the project who believed in all the quack stuff had a partner. Let's just say the partner didn't believe in any of the stuff and was constantly arguing and fighting with him over it.

The show did a nice job of making fun of the guy as well, with funny commentary and some funny comments and looks by Kirsten the host.

Needless the say, their original budget of $10,280 (2 is his lucky number, and 8 means prosperity) didn't happen, they went over. Their original timeline of 2 weeks (2 his lucky number again), turned out to be about 5 months. Their final asking price, something like $392,280 (theres the 2 and 8 again), didn't get any offers, and after months on the market they lowered it to $349, 280 or something like that.

Basically they ended up not making any money and wasted 5 months of their life. So much for his lucky number of 2 and the feng shui aspects!

I saw that show the other night. You can be sure he won't let it dampen his woo beliefs. It will probably reinforce his belief that he needs to adhere even more rigorously to the feng shui nonsense. They were talking about doing more flips. If I were his partner I'd bail out of the business right now.

ETA: Their workmanship was awful. Solving that problem will do far more for their success than ancient superstitions.
