Great article by Sam Harris in the Washington Post. It is "an edited transcript of a talk given at the Atheist Alliance conference in Washington D.C. on September 28th, 2007":

Among other things, he thinks the term "atheist" does more harm than good:
I think that “atheist” is a term that we do not need, in the same way that we don’t need a word for someone who rejects astrology. We simply do not call people “non-astrologers.” All we need are words like “reason” and “evidence” and “common sense” and “bull****” to put astrologers in their place, and so it could be with religion.
I didn't before, but now I want to pick up both "The End of Faith" and "Letter to a Christian Nation".
