There is an interesting discussion page on facebook 'Sally Morgan.. psychic or charlatan'. I REALLY wish JREF would investigate Sally. Has she never been asked why she won't take the challenge. I'm not doubting for a moment that she doesn't need the money, her website has premium rate calls to 'dial a psychic' and her tv shows/live shows must be raking it in.
 
same old excuses..

most of the 'believers' simply make excuses for their trickery, and they claim that the Randi Prize is set up so that its impossible to pass. etc. Or that they can't perform like a circus act in order to prove themselves. But funnily enough, they can 'perform' with a paying audience of gullible followers. Probably because thats a lot easier than actually proving themselves scientifically.
 
I saw a show about her on, I think, Living the other day. It was following her and her husband as they drove around to do her shows. At one point, she told a weeping mother and daughter that the person they had lost was standing beside her. Then the daughter revealed that it was a baby she had lost. Suddenly, the baby was in the arms of someone else they knew who had died. Who knew ghosts could be so flexible and accommodating like that?

I've noticed that as soon as you mention the Randi challenge to any believers they almost always instantly clam up & dismiss it as unfair, impossible to pass etc, without knowing a thing about the test. Its amazing how many of them just assume its Randi sitting as judge & jury, declaring the participant to have failed because he deems it so.

So instead I usually give a brief example of a test protocol without mentioning Randi. This sometimes makes the believer more willing to see & discuss the benefits of a properly controlled test. Of course they still rarely see it as a problem that no one has ever been able to pass a simple controlled test, but little steps I guess.

Well put. I'm constantly amazed that people of average or above (hell, even below) intelligence with even a whit of common sense can't spot those cheap and cheesy techniques. It's one thing to believe that maybe, possibly, some form of ESP or other paranormal powers might be within the realm of human potential. But to be able to watch a psychic at work and not see what's going on is beyond the pale.
 
Have you noticed how mad they get when presented with evidence showing their favourite celebrity self proclaimed 'psychic medium' frauds and fakers getting it wrong on camera, using common tricks of hot and cold reading. It's very childish, They always end up retalliating by being verbally abusive or crying that they are being bullied or victimised because skeptics are simply questioning them or always mentioning the Randi Challenge. They don't know how else to get out of it so they play the victim card.
Some are so foolish that they even join the facebook page that is saying Sally Morgan is a charlatan.. and say things like 'Hi Sally, thanks for adding me, I love your show you're such a gifted honest woman. I can't wait to come and see you. I'm so excited I've bought my whole family a ticket!!'. or 'I've just dialled your premium rate dial a psychic hotline and it was all true!' lol
 
go to www.rte.ie/radio1/liveline/ and listen to the Podcast titled Psychics... Ooops! look like Sally's been busted at one of her sell out shows. Plants mingling in the audience?? Info fed to Sally via an earpiece?? Never! lol

We think the "bust" may be in error: not to say fraud is not involved, or delusion, and there are no reasons at all to believe she is honest, but we are not convinced this is as it seems

There are many of her fans who will go to great lengths to defend her!!... see this post on Sally Morgan's facebook page today 19/9/11 at about 12noon, by a fan named, Stewart Bayford:
"Facts – The two lighting tech guys are full time staff at the theatre in question, Average salary of Light Techs 18K X 2, also as the bar staff are 100% in with the plot let’s say roughly 12K salary x 3 and the people that are paid full time for sure to mingle with the crowd, this would be very specialised work so probably employing ex MI5 staff, 35K say x 4. Each theatre manager would have to be... on the Sally Morgan payroll as they would have to oversee the con and ensure all staff are trained correctly to make sure the con works, so add 40K salary, so far to ensure this level of success at each venue Sally would invest £217,000 per show, Sally this year I believe did over 170 Shows, Venue hire £34000 at least,...............

so as the above required at least 8 People all in with the con, Sally would need cover the costs of roughly 1190 people per year as the staff are connected to the theatre and don’t travel with her and she only does one show per theatre. ...Also as Sally is so famous she will know that everybody working for her are on quite low wages and will happily sell their story to the paper, so the now the average paper fee for a good story is 15K going up and up, so Sally per year would have to bung all the staff a bonus of more than this to keep them quiet so a figure of 17,850000 per year!...........

As you can’t expect a single bung to last forever! So this would be a yearly figure. Now as Sally would need to make sure that all the people are in with the very slick con she would have to be there the day before at least for some serious... rehearsals, so Sally would need a time machine, not sure how much these cost ? So as we all know for sure Sally is getting the information via her earpieces, but as she is head of a multimillion pound con she would know that radio or phone broadcast via an ear piece would not be secure due to scanning equipment, so she would have to own a military burst transmission system, so this means the military must be funding this.

.........Oops missed the bit above if 170 venues at £217,000 per show that’s another £3689000 invested into the year. Slight problem as Sally has on countless times told people what happened in their houses the day before and these people did not gi...ve their information to the highly trained bar staff and spies in the crowd, she would have to plant bugs and covert cameras into each room of each house of each person at each show, Also Sally must have control over military satellites so as to track the audience when they are outside their homes so as to take care of that side of things.See more
