Well for my money the SOB looked more presidential than
wubya on his BEST day in the oval office.

Will this come back to bite the US/new govt. in the ass?

Few comments so far from iragies has indicated that they didn't expect this type of pictures?

Will this help/hurt the US cause?? Looking at it from a followers perspective, it would make me want to pick up an AK47.

I thought the same thing.... holding the trial while Iraq is still unsecure could make a bad situation even worse.

I'm sure Osama is going to take advantage of the opportunity to encourage more & more havoc against troops & citizens.
 
I haven't seen it yet. Just curious, were his guards in the courthouse Iraqi or US troops? If US (as I suspect) it might have sent a message that while the justices were Iraqi, the guys with the guns were Americans. Again, I don't know, I would like to hear about it.

The thing that is needed (IMHO) is Nuremburg-type evidence, the type of stuff that can't be denied or explained away (documents, videos, et. al) shown as much as possible over the air and to all Iraqis--however, with the trial not starting until next year, that will probably not happen. Pity.

You mean like a video they showed? There are plenty of those that can be shown and I am sure there are no shortage of people to be called to testify.
 
I don't know the nationality of the guards. Logic tells us that this trial is going to be carefully orchestrated by the USA (unlike the invasion) and they will do everything in their power to make the Muslim world see this trial as just.

Between testimony from Iraqis, Kurds & Kuwaitis, I'm sure there will be more than enough evidence to convince the majority of Muslims/Arabs that Saddam deserves to die.
