CONTROVERSIAL Sydney lawyer John Marsden yesterday accepted the toughest brief of his legal career – defending the deposed Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.
Mr Marsden, best known for defending backpacker killer Ivan Milat, said he accepted the job because "every person is entitled to a lawyer".
He will join a 20-strong international law team recruited by Saddam's British-based lawyer Giovanni di Stefano.
Marsden to act as lawyer for Saddam
I wonder if Geoffrey Robertson will join the prosecution team.
