Rule of Law must Yield

Big deal just some extremist conservative. Explain why this is important? That is, aside from amusement value of course.
 
Well, you know, civil liberties came about because those silly Founding Fathers realized that allowing government to violate them at the government's discretion tended to be a Bad Thing.

On the other hand, many modern Civil Libertarians have decided one of those rights, the right to bear arms, no longer applies in modern society.

I suppose none should apply. Why pick and choose based on emotionalism?
 
It's important because this has been published in a very mainstream journal, and because it appears the people we elected are behaving this way in practice.
