I hope he doesn't get mired down in platforming. He was always a pragmatic and numbers oriented guy. The worst thing he could do is take stances on national issues that the president really has no business getting personally involved in. I think abortion is really going to hurt the GOP in 08 if they keep having their candidates adopt platform positions on it for instance.

After you get past the "big" talk at the beginning, it becomes an autobiographical account of city management that could really serve as a "City Management for Dummies" guide. I think his perserverance, pragmatism, and wisdom really shine through.
Mike Bloomberg when probed about not being conservative enough once said "there isn't a republican or democrat way to pick up trash". Rudy is partially from that same school of thought and I hope he stays free of ideology as much as possible.
In a way, Rudy is the anti-Obama.
