RS Spokesman recommends teaching Creationism

Although in my view he is completely wrong, I half understand his reasoning. The problem is, his reasoning could extend to cover any world view so why stop at creationism? What gives that non-scientific 'world view' a right to be discussed in science class over any other non-scientific 'world view'?

Indeed, why stop there? Should we make time for the parting of the red sea in Physics class, or returning from the dead in biology?

Actually, the more I think of it, I don't even half understand his reasoning - the guy's an idiot. Also, despite his protestations that he doesn't believe in creationism, his religious convictions are possibly presenting a conflict of interest...

I heard him discussing this with someone else on the BBC Today programme this morning. He seemed to have changed his view somewhat, and ended up agreeing that if the matter was raised by pupils then it would be useful if it was discussed, rather than rejecting it out of hand. He didn't advocate teaching it as a valid alternative to evolution.
