Ron Brown Woo

As most of you probably known, Ron Brown was the Commerce Secretary under Clinton who died in a plane crash in Bosnia in 1996. I have been vaguely aware that there were conspiracy theories floating around about Brown's death, specifically focusing on supposed evidence that Brown had been shot prior to the plane crash.

With Hillary running, many of these 1990s conspiracy theories will be brought back to the forefront. Jack Cashill, a writer for World Net Daily, an occasionally interesting, frequently crackpot website rehashes many of the claims from his book, Ron Brown's Body.

While I'd love to see many of the claims here debunked if anybody here has the background information, I thought it was interesting to see the obvious points of comparison between Ron Brown Woo and 9-11 Woo:

1. "Looks like"="Is":

"Wow,” said Janoski upon spotting a circular indentation in Brown’s skull, “that looks like a bullet hole."

2. Lots of "questions" but little in the way of conclusions:

# Who detoured NATO rescuers for more than fours hours over the Adriatic when the plane crashed just a mile or so inland from the airport?

3. Gripes about the media ignoring these questions:

Eleven years after Brown’s death, some very basic questions remain unanswered simply because the powers that be, the major media included, have refused to ask them.

4. A call for a new inquiry:

Presidential aspirant Barack Obama is the first person in the last ten years with the means and the motive to get at the truth. In the way of oppositional research, he could pose the following questions to Hillary Clinton and expect his friends in the media, especially in the black media, to echo them....

5. Claims that subsequent news events were just a distraction to get people's minds off the real story:

Two days later, Matt Drudge broke a Michael Isikoff story that Newsweek had been suppressing. So rich was this story in the tawdry details the public loves the major media had no choice but to open the floodgates. By January 21, the Monica tale had inundated the land and left every other news story gasping for breath.

6. Claims of failure to investigate completely:

Why did the White House deny Brown an autopsy after the apparent bullet hole was found in the top of his head?

7. A story that doesn't quite add up if you stop and think it through. In Ron Brown's case, suppose we grant that he was shot. Okay, shot by whom? Well, the obvious answer is somebody else on the plane. Okay, then how did the plane crash? Did our shooter kill the pilots and crash the plane? Then why shoot Brown? In other words, this is the usual "way too complicated scheme" that correlates well with the WTC 7 part of 9-11 Denial. Cashill can't put forward a sensible theory that explains all the evidence, or at least he does not in this article.

8. And, in the proudest tradition of 9-11 Denial, Cashill has both a book and a DVD for sale.
