Rick Perry is truly the type of man who, if elected, will cut government spending.

After all, he is so anxious to cut costs, that he is no longer paying the people who are trying to get him elected President. So you can be sure that if he actually becomes the President, he will likewise cut costs by not paying people who are working for him.

Perry's cash-strapped 2016 campaign stops paying staffers

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry has stopped paying his presidential campaign staff amid slow fundraising that has left his 2016 bid starving for cash barely two months after it began.

Texas' longest-serving governor raised only about $1 million in the first four weeks of after formally entering the race on June 4, which apparently is not enough cash to cover his staffing expenses.

As one of my former calculus instructors used to say "Just relax and enjoy.".

;)

Rand Paul is also having major money problems.
Not surprised that Perry is running out of money, but am surprised that Paul's campaign is in free fall. Apparently his distaste for things llike fundraising and meeting with likely supporters is costing him bigtime.

You often hear politicians say, "The only thing I don't like about running for office is the fundraising.", but they never do anything about it.

The article notes he has plenty in the superPac, and...

Donors can give $2,700 maximum per election to campaigns, but there are no limits on what they can give to super PACs. Dallas businessmen Kelcy Warren and Darwin Deason gave a total of $11 million to the super PACs backing Perry, even though Warren also serves as the finance chairman for Perry's official campaign.

I am guessing that it is best to try to make your payroll with the donor money, since that is more regulated as to what you can do with it if you end your campaign. I believe (but am not positive) that there are ways to keep the superPac money afterwards. So if donor money runs low, and a candidate is concerned about their post-campaign payoff, they would want to conserve that superPac money and not use it in places that could normally rely on donor money, like for payroll.

I've seen some articles indicating Paul is an obsessive micromanager. He wants to personally check every detail of every travel itinerary. And there was some major fundraiser for which he simply didn't bother to show up. He went to some family event instead, which is good but not very smart politics.

Farewell Rick "Oops" Perry

Before he slips quietly off the national scene, maybe Perry will remember that other cabinet department he was going to shut down.

Rick Perry first to exit 2016 Republican presidential race

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Out of money and relegated once again to the back-of-the-pack debate, former Texas Gov. Rick Perry on Friday dropped out of the race for president, ending his second bid for the Republican presidential nomination and becoming the first major candidate of the 2016 campaign to give up on the White House.

...

The first of the those stupid, idiotic, lying Republicans has quit the race.

Hopefully, more of them will do so in the near future.

Not really - let them fight all the way to their convention and then rip each other new ones at the convention itself. I will enjoy the party watching that!!!!!
