Richard Dawkins' Hate Mail

I want hate mail. Someone send me hate mail.

God I found this hilarious, "a church van". Bahaha! What the hell is a church van?

Thanks for watching, lonewulf.

Alex.

Such great creatures our Christian friends, aren't they?

Pack of anus holes.

Alex.

I almost laughed myself off the chair.

Churches, most usually evangelical ones, use vans to pickup and drop off young kids and the elderly who wouldn't otherwise be able to get the weekly dose.

"I hope you get hit by a church van". YAY CHRISTIAN LOVE!

What I love are the people that go on and on about Dawkins uses nasty language and that it's "self evident" that he's militantly aggressive.

It's amusing; to be a non-militant atheist, you have to be a saint.

Hm, I just thought of something.

Ultimately, I agree with you on the "wide brush" complaint. Yes, that was painting with a wide brush, and I find generalizing "our Christian friends" to be ultimately wrong.

However, to borrow an argument from BPSGS (or whatever random string of the alphabet consist of his name), where's the Christian outcry at these kinds of hate mail? DOesn't this seem to be demonstrate that Christians are innately immoral?

Wow. My fingers feel dirty after typing that.

Okay, wide brush.

You know, I've always resisted getting a special ringtone for my cell phone, but if I can have Dawkins saying "ha ha, you [rule10] dumbass!" I might have to reconsider.

Everyone knows Christians are full of love, not hate!

Dawkins is obviously making up these emails just to make Christians look bad! That how much of a militant angry-atheist he is!

I'm not sure if you're serious about promoting BPSGS's argument or if you're ridiculing it. Seems like you could be trying to do both at the same time.

The same bunk was spouted at Muslims to stir up flagging public enthusiasm for the "War on Terror", claiming that all Muslims are collectively responsible for the actions of a few criminals who were Muslims. It's also gutter bunk when chucked at Christians.

Now wash your hands! ;)

While I absolutely agree with the "tarred with the same brush" defensive tactics that the religious use in these cases on a basis of people are not all the same, there is no denying that this sort of abuse is not uncommon towards atheists who question strongly the believers in the public arena.

This for me, at least shows that the "god provides morals" argument is pretty weak.

If the religion cannot at least provide enough inspiration (or maybe even control) over this type of blatent non-forgiving intolerant attitude and arrogant diatribe which seems to portray the giver pretty much as someone who is mentally unstable, what is the point in taking it up?

It surely leads to shooting the more placid followers of these errant doctrines in both feet from the more uninformed public point of view?.

I also don't see anything like the slapdowns from their fellow's like, for instance, the science/atheist community might dish out to such miscreants.

No. All we get is the mealy mouthed unsubstantial platitudes thats says the obvious, "we are'nt all like that".

Well we knew that already..........and these vociferous big-headed loud mouths never listen to the milder ones in their midst.

It surely is a classic "backs against the wall" defence system that the meme takes up in it's own defence.

It shows clearly the fact that the actual religion is powerless irrational stupidity. Other wise surely it would take a more rational (?) approach first?

I cant say I've ever heard an atheist wish publicly for such thing on the religious, clever dialogue is enough.....

I actually wrote something else in reply to your post, completely misreading what you said, so I've took that out.

As for "collective responsiblity" as they never condemn terrorism or bad behaviour, they allow the more extreme ones to get away with it.

The reason they commonly refuse to condemn these nutjobs is because to do so would also condemn what they also follow.

I've seen them wriggle when pressed, and the only conclusion I can come to is they can't deny their own scripture.

A mild nutjob is still a nut job.

Ridiculing.

I'm well aware. It was essentially a way to paint with a wide brush over billions of people (literally; overall muslim population throughout the world is officially "a hell of a lot").

Now wash your hands! ;)

BUT I DON'T WANNA!

Dawkins is obviously making up these emails
This precise thought actually occurred to me when I heard the 'ha-hah' one:D.

You know, I've always resisted getting a special ringtone for my cell phone, but if I can have Dawkins saying "ha ha, you [rule10] dumbass!" I might have to reconsider.
Double :D. Me too.

It seems rather surreal that people actually send such messages. I wonder what the historians of future generations will think of this?
