Maybe my brain is cloudy; but remember those TV shows that had real footage of car accident after car accident? They recycled the same footage 900 times to "world worst accidents" "Car Wrecks 2" " etc... They are still popular today, but usually they show new footage rather the same accidents.

Now, from what I remember, Richard Belzer hosted one of these. With the same footage, everyone has seen, but there was a conspiracy behind this. It had a similar sensationalistic title but Richard Belzer named a paranormal piece of a car called the “Hydrocolator”. He said that these where the causes of all the accidents and had interviews galore. He blamed Ford for putting these things in there. Anyone remember this, or heard of such a thing?

I don't remember this specifically, but I do know that Richard Belzer is a bit conspiracy-obsessed. He's published books about various alleged conspiracies (UFOs, JFK, etc.).

Yep, it was a parody, saying that cars were becoming sentient and causing crashes in an revolt against their human captors.
Basically a humourous premise for an accident show.

ABC's "When cars attack" originally aired Thursday, 3 September 1998. I thought the show was hilarious, but then I'm rather strange.

Thanks very much. Very interesting reading.

However, I am thinking that this show might be older then 98. I just remember that darn Hydrocolator, Hydrosolator, Hydrosomething.. It was in every production car, and our government purposively put it there. It is a piece of metal near the radiator that is in every car.

It went even further. One of the clips had a man that kidnapped his girlfriend. He then got out of the car with a shotgun, where he threatened police. They interviewed the man afterwards saying his mind was under control of this Hydrosolator.

Funny stuff, I just never heard of such a thing.
