Rice and the Pentagon: help required!

The 9/11 Commission Report includes the following chapter #1 footnote (part of #213):

"White House transcript, Rice interview with Evan Thomas, Nov. 1, 2001, p. 388 (Rice viewed television footage of Pentagon ablaze in Situation Room)"

I'd like to find this, but can't see this transcript on the White House site, or find the interview with Thomas, or even any references to it other than in the Report.

It could be there's a clue in the "p. 388". Page 388 in what? Not the transcript, surely? Or the magazine/ newspaper/ whatever it appeared in? So where was this interview? Am I being v. stupid and missing something very obvious, or is it actually quite hard to track down...?

Anyway, let me know if you've any ideas (preferably on the topic of the Rice interview, rather than my stupidity). Thanks!

A lot of the interviews like that are not available in any form I've seen. The "page 388" sounds like a huge document with a lot of different interviews on it. I can't imagine an interview with Rice lasting that long.

That's what I'm thinking!

But on the other hand, Evan Thomas is a major figure, writing for Newsweek at the time I think? So it seems odd that he would have interviewed her but not had that crop up somewhere that's accessible to the general public. Unless he did and it's just not available online, I guess.
