Kind of a bizarre legal situation.
It seems that scientists did not expect some small earthquake tremors to amount to much, and told the public to be calm. Unfortunately they were wrong and now are being sued (along with town officials).

We unfortunately already have so many empty CYA warnings on everything that the warnings are quite useless (the first half of my cellphone manual is composed of warnings about anything stupid you can do with it... my digital watch came with all sorts of warnings)
So what do we do, cry wolf every day or risk being sued?
