Requirements for a political attack TV ad

I read an article about political attack ads. They make them look amateurish on purpose, because if the ad is too slick with great production values people decide it's not sincere.

People are very, very odd.
 
Half truths. Lots of half truths and stuff out of context. Blatant lies don't work nearly as well.


The "out of context" was my first thought what with the current anti-Hillary "Benghazi" ad.

Anti-Donald clips on the other hand, require little or no context.
The stupid **** that comes out of his mouth generally stands on its own.

Just roll the video... job done. :rolleyes:

Stark, high-contrast, black & white still pictures or video of the target.

Often the video is shot by pointing a camera at a TV screen so that the screen pixels can be seen. Slowing down the video is also popular.
