Republicans, is this all you have?

I think the biggest disadvantage any republucan running for president in '08 is going to face will be the "R" next to his name.

The field of candidates on each side is rather unimpressive at this point.

So a bunch of Democrats enter the race prematurely, and you are wondering why the Republicans haven't?

McCain seems to have hopped off the straight talk express onto the status quo short bus.

Ron Paul might run! If he gets the nomination (probably highly doubtful) then I just might be voting Republican!
With any luck. :)

I applaud your efforts to get Ron Paul to run. :) Nothing else could so safely secure the election for the Democrats. Nothing else at all could make George Bush look good. I applaud mightily.

If the democrats successfully pass a bill against bush's troop increase, ANYONE could run in the republican slot and win

all campaign you will here how evil democrats micromanaged the war and "killed my baby, over there fighting for his country"

mark my words

That would first require them to propose such a bill something they have little political interest in doing.

If the dems don't screw up the next 10 years they will OWN the government for the next 40, while they continually clean up GWs mess, and constantly remind the public what happens when you let a R in the house.

Well, yes, actually.

Campaigns get ruined by missteps from which there is no recovery. The longer you campaign, the more likely you are to have such a misstep. I see no benefit to anyone (except the paid political consultants) to starting so early.
