MSNBC and CNN are reporting that Ruth Bader Ginsburg has died at home with her family. No doubt that Trump and McConnell will try to rush through another right-wing extremist.

We are SO ******!

Trump will have a nominee within days, Moscow Mitch will have pushed through a confirmation within two weeks.

I blame you, Anthony Kennedy!

Surely this close to an election the office should be left for the next president's choice of candidate, right? Isn't that what the Republicans said about a year long vacancy?

If there were any integrity in the world, any attempt by Mitch to push this through should cause him to lose in landslide.

Of course, the morons will still vote for him.

Yeah, but the President then was an evil socialist commie Kenyan Democrat!

Oh they made their excuses for that months ago. You see this is different because Trump is an incumbent so America has "already made their choice."

I repeat. We're ******.

Option 1. Trump and McConnell push through a new judge who's sole requirement is "Do you agree that the President can do whatever he wants?"

Option 2. We're down a justice during the election so the SCOTUS can't say otherwise when Trump claims victory on shady pretext.

That seems like a reasonable explanation. People have the ability to evaluate his judgement on this at the ballot box where that wasn't an option with Obama.

You think there are 4 republicans with enough integrity?

Let me guess....Susan Collins?

Probably Romney, maybe Sasse and Alexander on principle. Also probably everybody who's in a close race for re-election -- like S. Collins. It wouldn't surprise me if they went to McConnell quietly and said "Don't do this to us."

Yeah, different rules apply when Democrat Muslims from Kenya are presidenting while black.

Also it's not "the Republicans" ruling America, it's discount Führer and wannabe banana republic dictator Trump :( .

Yes I'm sure Susan will be super-concerned. Her brow will furrow like it's never furrow before as she decides after much handwringing to confirm Trump's nomination of Ivana to the Supreme Court.

Susie's concern will be about her prospects for re-election. She's already behind. She won't give the Dems more ammunition.
