On his commentary, didn't self censor Bullsh!t. If that is a word that some software would block a site for, Randi just blocked his site. :(

Did you see the trouble I got into with Claus FLODIN Larsen? I got reprimanded for making fun of his name. Wonder why I didnt' get in trouble for making fun of your avatar? Could it be that you are not as important as CF??:eek:

I do think it is kinda fu*ked up that Randi choose, IIRC after seeing some posts by Franko and a few vulgar posters who responded (or initiated, whatever) in kind Randi asked folks to chill out a bit on the language. Then when wirty dords were not welcome, there was some fuss over it.


Now it seems that one of the reasons given to not allow such language, that it could get this site blocked from schools or libraries, isn't a problem of the posters but now of the hoast.

Unless I am greatly mistaken and Bullsh!t (or is it cool now to use that word straight up?) isn't really on any nannybot lists; does anyone know if it is?

Maybe so, but how many people that censor their own research/computer would really be interested in this site?

I'm glad he mentioned it though. I'm downloading some episodes and I've enjoyed them so far, so I'll be buying the DVD in a few days.

The problems is that Randi did away with that type of language saying that nannybot software (say at a school or public library) would pick up on these words and block the whole site, not just the message board.

I'm still not sure if bullsh!t is on any of these lists of nannybots, if it isn't then this isn't a problem. And since the word filter is on, hopefully this isn't a problem for the JREF site getting blocked.

However if bullsh!t is on some of these lists, then the origional problem that Randi said was getting his site blocked from schools and libraries, isn't due to the message board (if the word filter gets rid of that problem) but to his Latest Commentary.


The people who censor for themselves, without a nannybot type software, are not the issue nor were they the reason given to cut out vulgarities.

I have no problem with the request to keep it civil, at least in language if not in tone.
