Somebody actually called 911 about this? Now *that* is a crime. I've, ahem, appropriated more than one PA system in my day. I've never said anything racist, but I've definitely been racy.

The 2010 Census form lists both "black" and "negro" as choices for "race" on question 9, as well as "African Am.".

This just baffles me. I know that changes were made to this question to get people who don't self identify as AA to check that box, for accuracy's sake. It seems like people just want to get upset.

I attached a cheap transistor radio to my "Rock-N-Roll" high school's PA system, and tuned it to a country/western/gospel station. The principal had to send out mimeographed copies (this was 1975, after all) of the day's announcements and call in a factory-trained technician to track down the source of the problem.

They found the radio, but never the source...

Any idiot can pick up the WalMart phone and make an announcement, to get the code all you have to do is watch the employee dial it. There was a truther video where the truther would go to WalMart and announce "9/11 was an inside job" and 'World Trade Center 7 fell at freefall speed"...

Any idiot can pick up the WalMart phone and make an announcement, to get the code all you have to do is watch the employee dial it. There was a truther video where the truther would go to WalMart and announce "9/11 was an inside job" and 'World Trade Center 7 fell at freefall speed"...

There's not even a code to page...you just press the page button...at least at our local Wal-Mart.

I have some friends who work at mall wart. One year, right after the holiday rush the various staff were encouraged to make announcements to try and move holiday merchandise that wasn't selling. It was a very short-lived program as lots of employees took it as a chance to sneak things by the censors. My favorite, which I actually got to hear said a couple of times, was an ad for a box with wheels and a handle, intended for storing an artificial christmas tree under beds. It started with 'Are you looking for someplace new to put your christmas tree? Are you tired of bending over?'

I also know plenty of hippies who sneak in and announce 'national buy nothing day' yearly.
