QuickTimePlayer.exe - No Disk

I have reinstalled Quicktimeplayer with the latest version but I still receive the following error:

"e94. QuickTimePlayer.exe - No Disk
There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive \Device\Harddisk2\DR4."

I press Cancel and the error message pops up again. Pressed "Try Again" and "Continue" and the message pops up. I can't get rid of the message unless I Alt+Ctrl+Delete and manually delete Quicktimeplayers from running.

How would I be able to fix this and make QuickTimePlayer work again?

Operating System: Windows XP Pro

Can we assume that you at one time actually had that many hard drives, or has it just gone mental? I had a similar problem with another app (can't remember what now) when I went from four hard drives to two. That was fixed with a reinstallation, though, and you say that yours wasn't.

Did you do a full uninstall before reinstall?

Cheers,
Rat.

Thanks. I figured out that the CompactFlash USB drive had a conflict with QuickTimePlayer. Once I disable the USB drive, it works fine afterwards.

I had the same problem with a multi-card reader. If you don't want to leave your flash drive off, you can try what I did. I went into Quicktime prferences and changed a few options that might have required disk access and the error messages have stopped. Unfortunately I'm not 1005 certain which change fixed it, and when I change the options back the way they were, I still don't get the error messages. I think it was turning off the Instant-on option.

There is a PC at work that is having this problem with a Zip Drive. Next time I'm in, (I'm on vacation this week :D) I will try to be more methodical and find out exactly which option to change.
