Question about book: "There is a God"

My wife came back from the library yesterday bringing the book "There is a God", by Antony Flew. It is sub-titled "How the world's most notorious atheist changed his mind".

My first reaction was "what? Dawkins changed his mind?". Then I realised that the world's most notorious atheist was, apparently, Mr Flew himself. I guess that's debatable, but not my point here.

My point actually is... has anyone read this book? As curious as I am about the content, well, we have only so much time and I'd rather use mine reading something interesting, enjoyable or at least useful. The description of the book at Amazon seems to indicate that there isn't really any new argument there, and the reader reviews didn't really help.

Hi wafonso - my library has ordered this book, and I have reserved it, so will be reading it in near future. Anthony Flew of course has not been an atheist for a long time (if ever) - he was an agnostic before his recent 'conversion'.
I sympathise with your desire not to read it, but I occasionally read some books of the "other side" to keep up with what they are doing/"thinking".

It's all very sad. Anthony Flew admits himself that he has some form of senile dementia, and this has been taken advantage of by some `Christians'.

If you search in the forums you should be able to find an interview where Flew talks about his confusion, and how he didn't actually write the book.

There must be more honest apologetics out there to read instead, and I ask anyone reading this not to buy the book, as they would be giving money to the scummy bastards who wrote it by preying on a sick man.

Blimey! I had no idea! That's horrible. I was considering buying it as well but I definitely won't be doing so now.

That's just sick.
