January 1, 2026 is Public Domain Day: Works from 1930 are open to all, as are sound recordings from 1925!

A couple or three that I noted because of my curious interests -- Olaf Stapledon, Last and First Men; Arthur Ransome, Swallows and Amazons; and Betty Boop.

Lots more of potential interest.

I understand that the Disney monster had the clout to extend copyright expirations by decades, at various times. My question is, how were they finally stopped at 95 years?
