Australian 'psychic' Margaret Birkin channels the 'spirit' Maitreya who enlightens us with sage wisdom regarding the Tsunami victims. Here are some choice quotes:

"First of all, each of these souls was ready and prepared for this on a subconscious level."

"Those in the illusion of the Earth plane can say "but why would God do this?" But I say to you, "God did not do this." This is part of evolution and is necessary for the change that is to occur."

"The souls, who passed over, are at peace and very happy to be released of the Earth plane; they have completed their cycle of life."

"These souls have not died, no, they have returned home, and are joyous at being freed from the Earth plane."

"Each one of you will die one day. These souls chose to die the way they did. It was very swift and nobody suffered - all left their body before impact."

It's exactly the same tripe that Sylvia Browne delivered after 9-11. The victims chose to die, they wanted us to learn a lesson, they are happy where they are now, they didn't feel any pain when they died...

It's very understandable why some people believe this, but that doesn't make the psychics less wrong. It is immoral and heartless.

I wonder if she'd gurgle that as she was slowly drowning to death in the wake of a tsunami?

Heartless bitch.

"I'm offering those platitudes so that you send ME your money instead of some faraway people I couldn't care less for."

Edited to add: I'm pretty sure that poor excuse for a human being doesn't know who "Maitreya" is supposed to be ...

If life sucks that bad and there is so much beauty, truth, wisdom and happiness on the other side, WTF is she doing in this plane of reality?

Get on with it already, move up to the next level. Prove she truly believes what she says she believes and go jump in front of the next tsunami or off of a building or whatever she needs to do to make herself truly happy...

this kind of thinking...

In my own experiences, I have found this to be the type of 'logic' espoused by the religious - "they are in a better place", "they didn't suffer", "they are with God now" - seemingly to absolve themselves of having to grieve or think about their own mortality. It's always seemed quite cold and heartless to me - but religion is their crutch and strength, rather than themselves. NOT that I accuse religious people of necessarily thinking this way about the Tsunami disaster - in fact, this has caused many to question their beliefs, even if just in some small way.

Don't you love the way the 'psychic medium' has her 'spirirt guide' speak these words?! I bet the bitch dare not say them herself!

What was the point of the impact, then? If all these souls were ready, and all left their bodies before the wave hit, why was it necessary for the wave to hit?

The idiot who came out with these words should be put in the stocks.
