Police investigate a "psychic" tip regarding Earl "Bubba" Kidder and find nothing. St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz, meanwhile, believes in psychics. Would be nice for him to supply proof of psychics to the JREF.

Psychic tip leads to renewed search

Earl "Bubba" Kidder Jr. of Opelousas went missing more than two years ago and since has not been located. That has left the family and loved ones without closure and searching for answers.

This week, however, it looked as though some questions finally were going to be answered when a psychic tip led to a promising situation.

"(Kidder's father) said he had spoken to someone — a psychic, actually — that suggested that we needed to renew our efforts and look in another direction for his son. His body hasn't been found, so I said I would do anything I could," St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz said.

Guidroz contacted the Pointe Coupee Parish sheriff's office and enlisted the Patterson Police Department "who has one of the best cadaver dogs in the state" to sniff out the tip.

The agencies went out to a fishing camp in Pointe Coupee Parish this week and swept the area. The cadaver dog identified a methane odor, and the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab and LSU Anthropology Department were contacted to probe and dig for remains.

In the end, however, Kidder's remains were not found.

"Methane gas can come from rotting plants (and) human bodies, but to say that the body was or was not in that location at one time? We don't know that, because it could have been moved," Guidroz said.

Now, all the agencies can do is hope that tips or new information comes in, he said.

"I, for one, know that some psychics have an ability and have a gift, and we're going to use that ability to help us," Guidroz said.

His family last saw Kidder on March 26, 2010 when he left for a fishing trip in the Sherburne Wildlife Management Area. Accompanying him on the trip were Chad Pitre and Riki Armand.

Family members have said Kidder called his mother to say he was having a good time fishing but never returned home.

Kidder's companions say they left the area to go home before he did and have not seen him since then.

State Wildlife and Fisheries agents searched for him for a few days and then turned the case over to the Pointe Coupee

Well it will be interesting. If it's been 2 years I am not surprised they contacted the police after they were contacted by the so-called psychic. If this follows other scenarios, unfortunately I'd expect multiple psychics to contact the family if they haven't already.

Now that the Pointe Coupee Parish sheriff's office has shown that it can be swayed by a psychic, I wonder how many times they will travel to and excavate another location "found" by another psychic? And spend the costs and time associated with it.
