Maybe she should have seen it coming.

Paula Lee, a self-proclaimed psychic, was arrested last week and charged with stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from multiple “clients,” according to a news release from the Morris County Prosecutor's Office.

The investigation began in 2008 when a victim reported to the prosecutor's office that she provided Lee with increasing amounts of money totaling $76,000 between June 2007 and January 2009, the release stated.
...
Lee, 36, allegedly indicated the money would be placed in an unknown location or at a church and once the money was “cleansed” through prayer, it would be returned, the prosecutor said.

As the investigation continued, the prosecutor’s office found another victim who claimed to have paid Lee about $160,000 for cleansing purposes between December 2004 and April 2008.

The prosecutor’s office conducted interviews with several other victims with similar stories.
...
Lee was charged with theft by deception, theft by failure to make a required disposition of property received, money laundering, failure to pay taxes and failure to file a tax return.

Morris County Prosecutor Robert Bianchi says his office launched an investigation in 2008 after a person claimed she went to the 36-year-old's home in Randolph for advice. The person told authorities Lee received $76,000 that was supposed to be returned after it was cleansed.
