Psychic Sally Morgan

edit - removed stupid comment, cause I can't tell the difference between physically and psychically!!

Keep us posted. My prediction for how the correspondence will proceed:
- You politely ask questions about her abilities.
- She responds with typical woo line of BS, along with unsubstantiated claims.
- You ask a few more questions, and ask for evidence.
- She responds tersely, telling you to be more open-minded.
- You ask again for evidence, and give definitions for terms such as "open-minded", "skeptic", "cold-reading", as well as various cognitive/logical fallacies.
- She gets mad calls you names.

That is scary ORM! As they appear to have dried up now I will publish them below.I asked her about her abilities and that I considered her a fraud and would she like to apply for any of the skeptic challenges and listed all the links.

Well it looks like you have already made up your mind what i am so please feel free to do what you must , thank you for your kind words of support .

So I said:
No evidence to suggest otherwise. Why is it you will not apply for these awards? I make up my mind based on evidence.I have studied many psychics/mediums and seen nothing but parlour tricks, psychology tricks and cold reading.Prove you dont do these things apply for one of the tests.

What evidence do you have that i am a fraud? surely that is what i might ask. Why on earth should i spend my life (i am 55 years old and have run this gauntlet ALL my life) proving myself to pricks like you.

Why don't you get a life and look beyond your own self importance? Just be a sceptic for crying out loud and be done with it, relax honey there is more to this life than narrow minds like yours.

Oh dear now you have got me going on one, this hasn't happened for a long while, let me have your address and when my book is published in Feb. i will send you a copy, you need it.

So I said:
What evidence do I need? I have read all your articles and seen your website with its claims of solving crimes. The dead girl in Liverpool is still not found,so much for contacting the dead on that one.I think every TV medium going has contacted Diana-how convienient that no-one can prove this.
Your a fake Sally you know it.Im going to book a reading and tie your little act in knots,Ill use a pseudonym of course, but being psychic you will see thorugh this of course!
Keep your book,I have enough fuel for my fire.

Not heard from her since! :D

Jim it was a one off article in News of The World supplement, some babble about predicting someone would be a movie star before they were born-someone in new James Bond film I think.Usual crow bar twisting to fit! You didn't miss anything.

On her websire one of her clients is described as "DAVE DORMAN WELL KNOWN COMMEDIENNE"

With her wonderful abilities she cannot tell if a person is male or femail?

Try looking dear. It's really quite simple.

Of course she has been asked to solve many crimes. Not asked by the police,of course, but don't let the facts get in the way of self publicity.

One of her investigations was allegedly carried out for a designer sunglasses firm called Sunbeam Gear. Interestingly, the only hit I get when Googling for "sunbeam gear" and sunglasses is, er, Sally's own site.

So she "robs" her own firm and hires herself to find the perpertrator!! Brilliant scam.

Wow, you should get the million! Your prediction must have been for me though since that exact same thing happened in that exact same order for me with another psychic named Sally. :jaw-dropp

To be fair, Azrael, you haven't posted your original email to her. Sounds like you may not have been all that polite - calling someone a fraud is not particularly calculated to win them over. Whether you think they're a fraud or not, maybe you'll have more success if you don't declare it from the outset?

ObscureReferenceMan: I'm afraid you won't be winning the million based on that prediction.

Matt

Well I dont believe in pussyfooting about matt-r,anyway here is original email to her:
Hello Sally,I came across an article about you at the weekend in a magazine so I am forwarding a list. Please choose one and apply. As a journalist and sceptic myself I am well aware you have no psychic powers and cannot contact spirits.I intend to write a magazine article very soon on this topic. So if you apply for one or all of these and pass it would be good for my article;if however you dont I will expose you for the fraud you clearly are.I look forward to your reply.
Best wishes

So you see it was fairly polite. ;)

Really, those "police and other investigations" on her site are pretty lame, even for a "psychic".

1. She claims to have "pinpointed" the body of a murdered girl, several years after the murderer had been convicted and sentenced. The body has not been found, despite Sally's "information". Names have been changed to prevent any of the claims being easily checked.

2. She claims to have helped prevent a theft of designer sunglasses, from a firm that appears to have no web presence at all (Googling for it only brings up the reference to the firm on sally's site). She suspected the same five people that a private detective had already singled out, presumably without the help of paranormal abilities. Again, the fact that the company in question does not seem to appear on any Google search (I doubt that they're selling many pairs of sunglasses) makes the claim impossible to check.

3. She has failed to find a missing dog (although she thinks she might have heard it), which returned home under its own steam. She did find a badger set though, so she's claiming a hit on the grounds that the dog could have been down there. Again, there is no way of checking any of this.

4. A "psychic interview" with the Kray twins. No investigation at all.

I noted with glee that her sight had a messageboard! But I loaded it up and saw that there was no way to leave messages there. I presume that feature has been removed. Too bad. But she's psychic, so what's the need, right? I'm sure right now she has sensed my intention to post on her messagebaord and what I wanted to say, so she's probably posting a response right now...

Azrael 5 and Debunk the JREF Kray twins :D

That's harsh! :p
Silly old bat gets what she deserves.I'm a pussycat compared to DB!

Not forgetting the obligatory contact with Princess Diana, who probably only said"Love to my boys" and not "Have you seen his wife? The horse faced old prune, how the mighty have fallen,eh?" Alledgedly. ;)
