Well, I'm still Wiccan, but it's more for fun than anything else.
I'm not surprised some animals were washing up; I'd expect the majority of animals in populated areas to be livestock and of course they couldn't get away. The wildlife preserve was talking about elephants--they couldn't exactly climb trees to get out of the way. They would have had to go to higher ground. Although on the other hand, maybe an elephant could withstand a tsunami if there were no buildings to crash into, who knows. It hit with varying degrees of force at different places.
From what I've read there was somewhat of a warning for people on the beach, the tide was sucked back extremely far, so all the water disappeared. But that would only give minutes of warning. Also read American scientists notified the governments twenty minutes ahead of time. Wouldn't be enough to do anything.
Of course people are animals, but we've lost a lot of abilities over time, for example interpreting our sense of smell. I can feel when a thunderstorm is brewing, must somehow sense changes in air pressure, but a lot of people can't. But it doesn't sound like this falls into that category. It would be wonderful to somehow have a day's warning. But two hours warning is better than nothing.
If this thing didn't show up on those egg thingummies, then that's total proof they're bogus. Can't imagine a more shocking event than this.
