I was listening to Stern thismorning on my morning drive. A woman called in saying that she was a psychic. Howard, being a selective skeptic, expressed his doubts. She tried to insists that she was and he tried to get her to get to the point. Unfortunately, she could not get to a point to save her life and kept trying to start a long winded explanation of everything.

Howard complained about that and when she said she got her Claivoyance from evil voices that hurt her he suggested that she check herself into a mental institution.

However, as I pulled in to work, the woman got another chance to speak and said that there is an organization called the "James Randi Foundation" and how it has a million dollars for anyone who can prove this sort of thing.

At that point, Stern dropped the volume on the call and started talking with the rest of the cast about how crazy the woman was. You could hear the woman talking in the background, but it wasn't clear what she was saying. Whether she needed help with her application or that she wanted media attention it was uncertain. I was unable to listen any more.

Some of you who get Stern on the Western parts of the US might hear it from the time delay. It was about 8:10 AM or so that she called in.

I wonder if this woman has applied.

I heard it too

FYI, this was "Best Of"...Howard's off today, don't know the original air date of that segment.

Howard has mentioned Randi before. He finds it funny how all these people with psychic powers can never prove their ability.

He has James Van Prague (sp?) on often and usually makes JVP look like the fool that he is. Howard doesnt buy into any of it.

He frequently rails against religion and the nonsense of it all. Whenever a celebrity comes in that happens to be a Scientologist he asks them about their ridiculous beliefs (Leah Remini, Lisa Marie Presley et al). It was also fun to watch him ask Rick Schroeder about his Mormon "magic" underwear.

Then he'll read a live commercial for some homeopathic cold remedy

But I love him :D

I used to like him, but right after 9/11 he became Bush's buddy and another yes-man in the media. I stopped following him after that.

Glad to hear he mentions the JREF though...

Haven't listened lately? He turned on Bush big time. He blames the recent FCC fines on his turning too. He might be right.

No, I haven't. But I can see how some of his comments (I read in the news) on the FCC might cause them to impose a more stricter policy towards him. I still think he's funny, but I don't really listen to radio... I don't like people telling me what music to listen to or what products I should buy.
