If there is a private contract that permits limited copying of copyrighted material and if the copying is done in accordance with the private contract, then there is no violation of either copyright law or contract law.

Did someone who claims to own the copyright to what I posted report the thread for possible copyright infringement?

If the report of possible copyright infringement had been made to a court of law, then the report would be frivolous and vexatious. This is a fact and I stand by it. The reporter of "possible copyright infringement" is playing a self-defeating game.

The law of copyright states that authors have the right to remain anonymous. If you dispute that right, then I will find the most offensive anti-Islamic postings on this board and send them all to Iran along with the names and addresses of their authors.

Now, back to the issue: the law of copyright states that authors have the right to remain anonymous. I pasted the work of an anonymous author. Does anyone wish to make an open, formal, and nonanonymous complaint about the posting of words written by an anonymous author?

They do, however, require you to cite the source (i.e. the printed material, video material or internet web page) from which you copied the quotes so that the copyright holder gets due credit under fair use.

Please provide the source or the quotes will be removed. I'm not going to discuss the matter further.[/modu]

The source was a handbill/ flyer.

Here's another one that I saw about two weeks ago:
