I am setting up some plans to visit some of the theme parks in Orlando, the week or so before TAM 5.5, with some of my Floridian friends. And, I might be able to drag along some of my New York friends, as well.
Would any JREFers like to join us?

The Parks:
I've already been to all the major Orlando theme parks, a bunch of times, so I am not terribly picky on where we go: The parks of Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, SeaWorld, etc.
The only park I simply must visit, again, is Disney's Animal Kingdom. Last time I was there, the Everest ride was still under construction.
My other favorites: Disney/MGM Studios, Epcot, and Universal's Islands of Adventure.

Of course, Epcot usually has the best science-based attractions of all the parks.

The Hotels
If I get enough people, we might be able to rent a block of rooms at an Orlando hotel for a group-rate discount.
I think I might prefer to stay on Disney property myself (some of their hotels are quite reasonably priced, nowadays), but if others object to this, I suppose I wouldn't mind staying somewhere else.

Possible Travel Idea to Fort Lauderdale
There is a chance I might rent a car, and if so, I might be able to offer a ride down to Fort Lauderdale, in time for TAM 5.5, or other pre-TAM 5.5 activities going on down there.
Maybe.

Join us! Have some harmless, fantasy-based fun, before stepping back into the harsh realities of Skeptical Activism!

I'd love to, but TAM 5.5 is going to be the cheap trip of the coming year. Adding more hotel nights and theme park fees isn't in the budget.

I just went to all those places in March.
You say that as if there is no reason to come back. Surely, there is something you missed, that you'd like to revisit some of them for?!

If not, tell us all how much fun they are. Perhaps that will attract others.

If money is your only concern, there might be... ways... we can work it out, so it won't really cost you all that much more.
