Not sure whether this should more properly go in politics. I flipped a coin.

VATICAN CITY (CNN) -- Pope John Paul II was given the last rites of the Roman Catholic Church late Thursday night as his health deteriorated, a Vatican source has told CNN.

His last rites probably go here, his last rights over in politics. :)

I note they are not hauling him over to the hospital so he can be hooked up forever to all the exotic life extending equpment...

It's nice they are keeping him in familar surroundings, his 'home' with the people who have cared for him so long. No indignity of long legal challenges or plethora of activist political and media whores.

Those Catholics know how to die right.
