This was brought up on another forum, the police officer in charge Jenelle Lydic stated on TV documentary that psychics gave her information that helped her solve the case(information they could not possibly know:rolleyes: )

By luck I found the officer's Facebook mesaged her,and she confirmed the skeptic view taht they helped in no way whatsoever, but(I await her reply to this)is she alowed to lie as a police officer about this? I haven't seent the doc being in UK but what could reason be?

I believe they just got the title of the article wrong. The correct title is actually a little farther down the page:

Blairsville sewer work moves ahead

Fortunately this never happens in documentaries on TV or in the movies. :(

I would have thought a police officer appearing in uniform with relevance to the case would have to tell the truth.

Yelenic case to be featured on Biography channel series

It was "lights, camera, action" in Blairsville this past weekend, as a television crew from Canada focused in on the community for an upcoming episode of "Psychic Investigators." The show, which airs on A&E's Biography channel, will explore one of the less traditional methods used by those who sought the guilty party in the April 2006 slaying of Blairsville dentist Dr. John Yelenic.

Former state trooper Kevin Foley was convicted of the killing in March and recently appealed the jury verdict and a subsequent life sentence.
...
In the Yelenic case, a pair of psychic sisters, Suzanne and Jean Vincent of Butler County, became involved at the request of Yelenic's friend and neighbor, Melissa Uss. What originated as a personal psychic reading for Uss developed into the sisters offering local police extrasensory details they claim to have uncovered.

The information psychics provide typically can't be used in a courtroom, but, Suzanne Vincent indicated, psychics can sometimes point the investigation in a previously unseen direction.
...
"We gave her a lot of information -- information that she didn't know was going on, to give to the law enforcement," said Jean Vincent.

Can you post her response?

Can you post her response?

Yes of course, I recieved two.
Janelle sent you a message.

Re: HI

"WOW! That is a long story. I don't believe in psychic. I don't believe that they gave me info that helped me that I already didn't know. If some of the things that they say would have happened like where to find the murder weapon then I would believe them. I am a police officer and they came to me with some information on a very public murder. I do not believe that they helped all that much. Sorry!"

Then when I asked her about what she said on the show:
Janelle sent you a message.

Re: HI

"Nothing that helped me at all. The show was scripted."
If you search her name on Facebook you will find her profile, links on her page relate to Police and area where she works/lives so seems genuinely her.

Old cop joke:

What do you call someone who claims to have psychic abilities and tells you facts about an investigation that the killer might know but the "psychic" can't possibly know?

A suspect.

Perhaps this is all part of a very subtle investigative technique to lull the suspect into a false sense of security. And your RUINING IT Asrael 5! Ruining it!;)

Old cop joke:
Pretty much. It's always struck me that if somebody genuinely knows something about a criminal investigation, and knowing that would mean they are either:
a) Involved
or
b) Psychic

Well... it's just that historically, the figures of people involved in crime vs displaying genuine psychic abilities are a little... overwhelming.
